One of the first tasks I completed when I started my jobs as a principal and as a school superintendent was to identify someone within my organization who had a knack for producing appealing content on social media. Once I zeroed in on these individuals, I allocated money and asked them if they would like to be my Director of Social Media. Both of them happily accepted and ended up loving their job!! Many school districts don't have the funds to hire a full-time communications director. Therefore, consider finding someone within your district who is dependable and "good" at social media. Committing $2,000 - $5,000 a year on a Director of Social Media could be the best money your building or district has ever spent! Pictured below are Directors of Social Media Jen Keltner (Muscatine High School) and Steve Bearden (South Tama County Elementary).
