Did you realize there are now over 1000 "National Days" on the calendar the United States? I would encourage any school district to have some with some of these events. While there are way too many national days to celebrate them all, I would suggest that you allow your students and staff to embrace these days whenever possible. For example, early during the morning of February 20th I was was alerted that it was "National Love Your Pet Day." I immediately thought we could make a really fun contest out of this day. I agreed to deliver a Casey's Pizza to one lucky winner who posted a picture of their pet and used our school district hashtag #TheTrojaynWay. Not only did we receive over 300 entries across our social media platforms, the winning student (and her friends) were ecstatic when I delivered the pizza the following day!
