Live anywhere in the northern half of the United States and it's likely you have to deal with snowy conditions throughout the winter. Perhaps one of the most under-appreciated jobs is that of the roads crews who endure countless sleepless nights making the roads safe to drive the following morning. Marilyn Rippy - STC Elementary Music Teacher - came up with an idea of having her Kindergarten and 1st grade students write "Thank You" cards and then asked if I would make hand-deliveries to local and regional crews. I thought this was an outstanding idea and carved out some time in the morning to make a number of visits. Everyone who received the cards (along with boxes of donuts, of course!) was highly appreciative of the thoughtful gesture.
