As a follow up to Does Culture Part I, this entry takes another look at if all of the work we put into culture and climate really matters.

The key to funding in any school district - at least in Iowa - is that you have students in your district. More students equal more funding. Therefore, it is important that you are able to keep your kids in your district whenever possible.

Open enrollment out of our district has been a huge issue in the past. Therefore, it has been a goal to keep as many of our students as possible. In the chart below, you can see that we have had a four year improvement in enrollment since we have really started pushing the idea of culture climate in our district.

While it is always hard to pinpoint the exact reason behind positive trends in school districts, I do believe the positive culture we are trying to create has helped address our enrollment issues.
